I showed you a side of me that no one else even knows exists. I still don't completely understand why I chose to open up to you so easily. But I gave you a level of trust, time, and care that I have never given to anyone else.
I treated our connection like it was the rarest thing in the world. I truly believed that you were completely different from everyone else around me. But looking back, I sometimes wonder: were you actually that different, or did I just desperately need to believe you were?
Maybe the truth is that a person isn't always special on their own. Sometimes, it is simply the beautiful way we choose to look at them. You might have just been a regular person, but it was the deep bond we shared that made you seem so incredibly special to me.
