LovesYouMoreThanYouKnow ♥
It feels strange
to wish you Happy Friendship Day
when we’re no longer
the friends we once were.
Once, you were the first person
I wanted to tell everything to.
Now, we’re just two people
living separate lives,
connected only by memories.
Silence has replaced our conversations.
Distance has replaced our closeness.
And somehow, we became strangers
who still know the deepest parts
of each other’s hearts.
We don’t text anymore.
We don’t laugh until we can’t breathe.
We don’t share the little moments
that once meant everything.
But my heart…
My heart still looks for you.
Almost every day,
I find myself searching your name,
wondering if you’re okay,
if you’ve eaten,
if you’re smiling,
if life has been kind to you.
I keep telling myself
that I’ve let go.
But every time your name appears,
my heart quietly reminds me
that some people
are never truly left behind.
Sometimes I see your name,
a comment, a photo, a memory.
I have no right to feel anything anymore—
not jealousy, not longing,
not the wish to still be your favorite person.
And yet…
my heart never learned
how to let you go.
Time teaches us
how to live without people.
But it doesn’t always teach us
how to stop loving
the memories they left behind.
No matter how much time passes,
there will always be
a version of me
that still calls you home.
Maybe we weren’t meant
to stay in each other’s lives forever.
Maybe some friendships
are only meant to teach us
how deeply a heart can care.
If that’s true…
Then thank you.
Thank you for every laugh,
every late-night conversation,
every moment that made life
feel a little lighter.
You were never
just another friend.
You became a part of my story,
a part of my heart,
a part of who I am.
And maybe one day
you’ll forget all of this.
Maybe you’ll forget me.
But I don’t think
I’ll ever forget you.
Not because I expect us
to become who we were again.
But because some people
leave behind a love so gentle,
a friendship so real,
that even silence
can never erase it.
So on this Friendship Day,
I won’t wish for the past to return.
I’ll simply pray
that you’re healthy,
that you’re loved,
that you’re surrounded by people
who see the beautiful person I once knew.
And if, by chance,
you ever think of me…
I hope you remember this:
You were loved.
You were appreciated.
And somewhere in this world,
there’s a heart
that will always be grateful
it once got to call you
