Favoured Frenzy
We have walked through seasons together:
summer dust clinging to our laughter,
and winter frost painting our silences.
Our voices have learned
the shape of each other’s joys,
the weight of each other’s grief.
We know the way each one leans into the wind,
the way each one turns toward the light.
We have seen the same moons rise,
held the same silence in our hands,
laughed until the world tilted,
wept until it softened again.
We have walked through years like lanterns,
lighting each other’s steps
until the stars call us home.
And, after all these years,
we look at each other and love even more
all the versions of ourselves we’ve ever been.
