Adrenaline Rush
Newbie
Last Sunday, during an evening walk in a park, I noticed some maintenance work going on bushes being trimmed, plants rearranged, pathways cleaned. In the middle of it all, a familiar smell drifted through the air, and suddenly, I was no longer there.
It took me back to my childhood.
To the playground near my hometown where we played football every evening after school, right through our high school days. Around that ground grew a plant we called “Aripoo. ” Whenever it flowered or its stem was disturbed, it released a smell that quietly became part of our evenings.
Maybe that smell stayed hidden somewhere in my mind, attached to laughter, dusty grounds, rain-soaked football matches, jerseys stained with mud, tired sunsets, and friends who made ordinary days feel endless.
It has been years since I left home for studies and work, living in different cities, lost in routines and busy days. I never realized how deeply I missed those moments until a single smell brought them all back.
What touched me most was this the memory waiting for me was not just a happy one, but a piece of life that once felt simple, complete, and quietly beautiful… a time when happiness existed without needing to be noticed.
Maybe life hides its most beautiful moments in the smallest things.
Cheers to those memories.
