The next day...
As the Inspector and his men continued searching Whitechapel for Sergeant Wilson Lucy and her brother William were visiting their friend Emily. "These murder's have become so gruesome" said Emily as she picked up a cup of tea , "yes I heard they found a severed head impaled on a metal fence" said William as he reached out and grabbed a sandwich , "yes The Shadow Of Whitechapel has been more violent lately" said Lucy.
A few moments later the police walked past Emily's house and then there was a knock at the door , "I shall get that" said Emily as she put her cup of tea down. She walked towards the door and opened it then saw the Inspector standing there , "hello Inspector" said Emily , "may I come in" asked the Inspector , Emily nodded then let him inside and closed the door , "ah Lucy, I wasn't expecting to see you" said the Inspector as he sat down.
Lucy greeted the Inspector as Emily say down and picked up her cup of tea , "I have some questions for you" said the Inspector as he looked at Emily. "Oh very well Inspector , anything I can do to assist you" said Emily , "have you seen anything suspicious recently?" Asked the Inspector , "hmm , now that you mention it I did see a dark figure walking past the house last night" said Emily.
"What time was this?" Asked the Inspector , "hmm I believe it was around eleven pm or a little earlier" said Emily , "can you describe this figure" said the Inspector. "Possibly but it was dark and foggy Inspector" said Emily , "how about their clothes" said the Inspector , "hmm I think they were wearing a suit and a hat" said Emily , "oh did you see anything else? Asked the Inspector.
"Well there was another thing I had noticed , I saw something in their pocket" said Emily , "could you tell what it was?" Asked the Inspector. "It was made of metal , I saw it shine in the light , It could have been a knife" said Emily , "it sounds like our murderer , can you tell me anything else" said the Inspector , "they were not very tall" said Emily , "are you sure about that" said the Inspector.
"Yes I'm quite sure Inspector" said Emily , "hmm thank you Emily , may I have a word in private Lucy" said the Inspector , a few moments later Lucy and the Inspector walked out of the living room and into the kitchen. "I'm starting to think Sergeant Wilson seems to be innocent" said the Inspector , "yes that is what I was thinking Inspector , Sergeant Wilson is a tall man" said Lucy.
"Then we are back where we started" said the Inspector as he sighed , "hmm it appears so Inspector" said Lucy , a few moments later Lucy and the Inspector went back into the living room and sat down. "I have an interesting thought" said William , "what is it?" Asked Lucy , "these other murder's started in December did they not? " Said William , "yes that's right" said the Inspector.
"So maybe the person behind those murder's moved into the area around the same time" said William , "hmm I suppose...or it could be a coincidence" said Lucy. "Not many people move here to Whitechapel unless they don't have much money" said the Inspector , "yes you are right Inspector" said Lucy , "we are questioning everyone in this area" said the Inspector.
"A good idea Inspector!" said Lucy , "where were you last night William?" Asked the Inspector , "I was at the graveyard Inspector" said William. "Were you alone?" Asked the Inspector , "yes I was Inspector" said William , "did anyone see you?" Asked the Inspector , "hmm I don't believe so Inspector" said William , "ok that will be all" said the Inspector , as William ate a sandwich.
A moment later there was a knock at the door , "I shall get it" said the Inspector , a moment later the Inspector had answered the door. "Inspector we've found Sergeant Wilson" said the police officer , "good where is he?" Asked the Inspector , "he's locked up at headquarters sir" said the police officer , "hmm ok , let him go he's not our murderer" said the Inspector , "yes sir right away" said the police officer.
"Ok I must go now , I have more people to question" said the Inspector , a few moments later the Inspector had left and Lucy and William had said goodbye to their friend Emily and went back to their homes. Later that evening Lucy sat in her living room beside the fire and began to think to herself , "I cannot believe the Inspector asked William where he was last night , he would never harm anyone" thought Lucy as the sun began to set.
Four days later... Wednesday 18th
Another body had been discovered two days earlier , the woman's body was butchered so badly that not even their own family would be able to identify the victim , the Inspector and his men continued to ask the townsfolk questions as they tried to solve the murders , later that day the clocks struck midnight and the fog crept through the streets of Whitechapel as The Shadow of Whitechapel began his hunt for his next victim...
