There are probably hundreds of words in Telugu which are used as words of scolding/swear words. I just want to put some important ones which are used regularly. There are other rants, sexual abuses and still more vulgar slang terms which I don’t wish to write on social forums.

  1. Vedava / Yedava (Fool/Idiot) : A common word used to scold others.
  2. Gaadida/Adda Gaadida/Geviri Gaadida (Asshole).
  3. Dokka Chinchutha (Dokka = Skin in rural areas, Chinchutha =Tear) : I’d tear you apart.
  4. Tholu Teestha (Tholu = Skin, Teestha = Peel) : I’d peel your skin.
  5. Pallu Raalagodta (Pallu = Teeth, Raalagodta = Break That) : I’d break your teeth.
  6. Cheppu Tegutundi / Cheppu Teesi Kodta (Cheppu = Footwear, Tegutundi = Break, Teesi Kodta = Hit) : I’d hit you with footwear.
  7. Kosi Karam Pedta (Kosi = Cut, Karam = Spice, Pedta = Put it) : I’d peel you and apply Chillies (in short, I'd peel you left and right)
  8. Noru Muyyi (Noru = Mouth, Muyyi = Close) : A word for Shut up/shut your mouth.
  9. Chempa Pagalugodta (Chempa = Cheek, Pagalugodta = Slap/hit) : A phrase for I’d slap you.
  10. Veepu Vimanam Motha (Veepu = Back, Vimanam = Flight, Motha = unbearable sound) : A phrase for hitting a person by applying full force.
  11. Nee Bathuku Bus Stand/Nee Bathuku Cheda (Nee = You, Bathuku = Life, Cheda = Spoil) : Comparing a person to a platform.
  12. Sannasi/Daddamma /Vaajamma : Used to refer to an inefficient, incapable and inept person.
  13. Nanganaachi : Generally used to refer a cunning woman/witches.
  14. Pichchoda : A lunatic person.
  15. Thikkoda/Verrodaa/Erripappa : A fool.
  16. Mudarashtapu: Refers to a wicked person.
  17. Donga: Thief.
  18. Drohi: Cheat and Nammaka Drohi : Betrayer.
  19. Nee Dumpa Thega : An abuse referring to the separation of the opponent's parents.
  20. Paniki Maalinoda : An inefficient person or used to refer a person who roams/wonders on the streets without doing any constructive job.
  21. Champuta : I’d Kill you.
  22. Narukuta : I’d kill you into pieces.
  23. Donga Sachchinoda/Donga Naa Kodaka : An abuse used to refer an idiot or a cheat.
  24. Siggu Sharam Unnaya : Do you have any shame left.

Telivimalina vaada (M) /daana (F) (తెలివిమాలిన వాడా (పుం) /దానా (స్రీ)- Brainless fellow

Telivitakkuva daddamna (తెలివితక్కువదద్దమ్మ) - Brainless/useless fellow (gender neutal)
Chachhinoda/ chachhinadaana - చచ్చినోడా (పుం) /చచ్చిన దానా (స్రీ) You are a dead person

Nee amma kadupu kaala (నీ అమ్న కడుపు కాలా) - Indirectly to say let me see you die (gender neutral) ( literal meaning is let your mother’s stomach burn)

Mudanashtapu vaada (M) / daana (F) - ముదనష్టపు వాడా (పుం) /దానా (స్రీ) - A person with too much bad luck

Kurrakunka - కుర్రకుంక (Gender neutral) - Used like inexperienced person (kunka (కుంక) in general means a widow lady)


Aprachyuda (M) / aprachyuraala (F) -అప్రాచ్యుడా (పుం) / అప్రాచ్యురాలా ( స్రీ)- saying you are westerner- used for those who not follow traditions

Verrimoham - వెర్రిమెుహం - (Gender neutral) - a person with idiotic /innocent face. Vaadaa (వాడా) (పుం) daanaa దానా(స్రీ) can also be used to make it gender specific.

Nikrustudaa (M) /Nikrusturaala ( F) - నికృష్టుడా (పుం) / నికృష్టురాలా (స్రీ) - a person with low calibre/ class

Most of these abuses are used to show the frustration; not really used in their true sense. Still there will be many, but these are Few that came to my mind instantly and I felt like sharing.
