The Assassin
Epic Legend
The stormy weather raged on as the heavy rain hit the train hard and fast as it rolled down the tracks , "it seems this weather shall not end anytime soon" thought Kassandra as she looked out of the window. The lightning flashed bright and for a moment Kassandra thought she had seen a figure alongside the train , "what was that?!" She mumbled to herself , "hmm must have been a trick of the light" thought Kassandra as she sat back and relaxed.
45 minutes later...
The train had finally arrived at Trinity Hale station and Kassandra climbed out of the carriage and onto the platform , she opened her umbrella and began walking towards the center of the town. A few minutes or so later she reached the center of town and looked around , a dog with a bone in it's mouth ran straight past her as Kassandra walked towards Rose's house , a short time later she had finally arrived at her sister's home and knocked on the door.
A few moments later the door opened by itself , "hmm strange" said Kassandra as she closed her umbrella and walked into Rose's house , "Rose , are you home?" She said , a moment later Rose came down the stairs and greeted her. "Kassandra! , what are you doing here" said Rose , "I had visions , I saw you in danger so I came here by train from Ashwood Hollow as fast as I could" said Kassandra , "as you can see sister I am perfectly well" said Rose.
"Hmm very well but I shall stay here to make sure" said Kassandra as she sat down beside the fireplace , "so how have things been here in Trinity Hale" said Kassandra , "oh just the usual , nothing interesting recently" said Rose as she brushed her hair back a little , "I suppose it is not as interesting as all that business you had with Evelyn Grey's disappearance from this town" said Kassandra , "there have been some interesting events over the years since I solved that mystery but it has gotten a little quiet" said Rose.
"Hmm well I thought I saw a figure alongside the train on my way here but I think it must have been a trick of the light" said Kassandra , "hmm maybe it was or maybe you did see something" said Rose. Suddenly the candle's flickered and then went out , "what is going on?" Said Kassandra as the room became colder , the room had become so cold a person could see their breath , "It appears something was following you here" said Rose.
"SMASH!!" , the living room window suddenly shattered into pieces and a cloud of thick black smoke entered the house , the thick black smoke swirled around for a moment and then took human form. The spectre flew through the air towards Rose and screeched , suddenly a burst of white light appeared between Rose and the spectre , the white light turned into human form and said "you shall not harm her" , "Gabriel! , it is you" said Rose.
"I remember you told me about Gabriel once before , did he not die?" Said Kassandra , "yes he died a long time ago" said Rose as the ghost of Gabriel battled the spectre. "This is what I saw in my visions!" Said Kassandra as the spectre grabbed Gabriel and threw him through the window , a moment later the spectre flew towards Rose once more , Kassandra moved fast like lightning and grabbed the spectre by it's neck , "how are you doing that?! , your hand should have gone straight through it" said Rose.
"I do not know but I shall not let it escape my grip" said Kassandra , a moment later Gabriel flew through the broken window and attacked the spectre. He thrust his fist into the spectre's body and white light began to shine bright , Gabriel's light burned through the spectre's black smoky body and made it screech , "go back to hell , you do not belong here" said Gabriel , a few moments later the spectre's body burst into flames and turned into dust.
"Thank you Gabriel" said Rose as she smiled at him , "I have to go back now , you shall not see me again" said Gabriel , a few moments later the ghost of Gabriel Van Helsing faded into a bright white light and vanished. "I had missed him..."said Rose as Kassandra placed her hand on her shoulder , "I do not know how you were able to touch that spectre" said Rose , "I do not know but maybe mother and father know something , they may be able to help" said Kassandra.
"Yes I am sure they could help you sister" said Rose , "very well then , I shall take the train to Blackthorn Valley and go see our parents" said Kassandra. Rose and Kassandra said their goodbyes and a few minutes later Kassandra headed towards the train station , "this weather has not improved..." Thought Kassandra as she held her umbrella tight , a short time later she had arrived at the train station and boarded the train to Blackthorn Valley.
Later that afternoon...
The train had finally arrived at Blackthorn Valley station and Kassandra climbed out of the carriage and walked towards the hill , she walked up the hill towards her parents house and knocked on the door. A moment or two later her parents Talia and Daniel opened the door and greeted her , "Kassandra! , we were not expecting to see you so soon" said her mother Talia , "it is good to see you , please come inside" said her father Daniel as he smiled at her.
Kassandra walked inside and a few moments later she and her parents sat down , Kassandra began to tell her parents what had happened at her sister Rose's home in Trinity Hale. "Rose was very surprised when she saw that I could touch a spectre" said Kassandra , "yes , well you see Kassandra...you are no ordinary vampire like us , you are special" said her parents Talia and Daniel , "oh a d why is that?" asked Kassandra , "we do not know , but there were legends back in my old country" said Talia.
"What kind of legends" said Kassandra , "that one day a vampire would be born with superior powers that us others do not have" said Talia , "what kind of powers?" Asked Kassandra. "Well the amulet we gave you to protect you from the sunlight , we only gave it to you because we thought you would be like us" said Talia , "but if you are the vampire that was mentioned in the legend then you do not need the amulet and you can be outside in the sunlight" said Daniel.
Kassandra took her amulet off and placed it on the table beside her , "you can also touch spectre's and ghosts , you are also stronger , faster and more powerful than us" said Talia , "the legend also says that you are invincible" said Daniel , "I cannot be killed?!" Said Kassandra , "that is right" said Talia , "we also know that evil lives in your town Ashwood Hollow" said Daniel , "how do you know that?" Asked Kassandra , "me and your mother visited Ashwood Hollow once before a few years ago , we could sense evil there" said Daniel.
"Hmm , I should investigate" said Kassandra , Talia and Daniel hugged Kassandra and told her to be careful , Kassandra left her parents home and walked back to the train station and rode the train home back to Ashwood Hollow....
