An overthinker isn't someone who expects too much; they're someone who craves genuine care. But what happens when that care is brutally ripped away?
Let me share a story with you.
She was just a little girl, the only daughter in her family( of two cousin). One day, her father brought home two chocolates and placed them in the freezer. Her eyes widened with excitement, but her hunger got the better of her. She crept into the kitchen, opened the freezer, and took one of the chocolates( she don't know that ths chocolate are for her cousins not for her)....But her joy was short-lived...Her father's thunderous voice shook the entire house. She trembled with fear as she made her way downstairs. The room fell silent as all eyes turned to her. Her father's face twisted in anger, and he asked to know who had taken the chocolate....With a quivering voice, she confessed. And in that instant, her world came crashing down...Her father's hand struck her cheek, leaving a stinging pain that would linger for a lifetime. Tears streamed down her face as she crumpled to the floor, her heart shattered into a million pieces. The room remained silent, a haunting testament to the trauma that had just unfolded...( And they bodyshame her too)
From that day on, she lived in constant fear. Fear of eating, fear of speaking, fear of being herself... Fear of eating anything without asking at her own home...The once-carefree girl was now a prisoner of her own thoughts, forever trapped in a cycle of anxiety and self-doubt..This is what happens when love and care are replaced with cruelty and neglect. This is how an overthinker is made.
So, the next time you encounter someone who's struggling to trust, to love, or to simply be themselves, remember: they're not broken; they're bruised. And with compassion, empathy, and kindness, we can help them heal...
