The next day Odysseus spread the word that he was looking for a new crew and held a competition where only the best of the best would earn a chance to become a new crew member. After several days men from all over Greece had come to take part in the competition , "welcome to Athens" said Odysseus to the competitors , Odysseus walked back and forth as he inspected the men and said "let's get started" , moments later the competition was in full swing , Odysseus watched as man after man became victorious in each of the events he had set up , later that morning Odysseus had a new crew , the best that Greece had to offer , Athena stood next to Odysseus and said "you have a good new crew" as she smiled.
Odysseus's new crew walked through the streets of Athens and towards the market and bought some supplies, Odysseus and Athena took his new crewmen to the blacksmith to collect their new swords and shields and then took them down to the harbour. Athena , Odysseus and his new crew boarded the ship then suddenly Athena's hands glowed as she made a pile of body armour and capes appear from nowhere , "here's your armour men" said Athena , the crew picked up their new armour and put it on , "welcome aboard my ship men" , "are you ready for adventure" said Odysseus , the new crewmen roared and cheered, Odysseus and Athena nodded and smiled, "let's go" said Odysseus.
The new crewmen sat down and started rowing, they sailed south across the sea as the sun shone bright and the wind blew , the sea sparkling in the golden glow of sunlight, dolphins swam alongside the ship as they sailed at top speed, the water so clear they could see the bright colours of the coral reef through the waves. After a few hours they saw land ahead of them , minutes later they had arrived at the island as the sun started to go down , they climbed off the ship and walked onwards towards the swamp , the orange glow of the sunset shone through the trees as they walked through the swamp , strange noises and shadows shifting all around them.
Odysseus drew his sword and his new crew did the same as they moved into formation, "I sense evil here" said Athena as she looked around , they could hear eerie voices coming from the shadows then suddenly dark figures burst out of the shadows and flew towards them , "wraiths" shouted Odysseus as he raised his shield, his new crewmen raised their shields as the wraiths surrounded them , "ok men stay calm , we'll dispatch these creatures" said Odysseus in a calm tone of voice. Then the wraiths flew towards them , their eyes glowed red and their claws sharp like blades as they were about to attack...
