Hades and Persephone...
Lord and Lady of the land of the dead
Watching soul's arrive in time for Cerberus to be fed
Hades grumbled and groaned as he worked hard
Whilst Persephone sang and danced in the yard
After a time they walked beside the river styx
Where they greeted the goddess of the night Nyx
Charon the ferryman offered them a boat ride
They stood there for a moment whilst they decide
Hades and Persephone climbed aboard and sat down
The seat was uncomfortable making Hades frown
They sailed away down the river through Tartarus
Persephone said to him "do not make a fuss"
Hades grumbled as Persephone placed a hand on his arm
He would do anything for her and protect her from harm
They sailed onwards beyond Tartarus and into Asphodel
New soul's arrived, Hades said solemnly, "welcome to hell"
Charon sailed the boat onwards through the fiery river
Yet somehow it felt cold it would make you shiver
They had reached Elysium, the isle of the blessed
In the entire underworld Elysium was the best
The water so blue and clear as it shimmered in the light
Even though in the underworld there's no day nor night
Hades and Persephone sat side by side as they sailed around
There sitting by the gate was Cerberus the three headed hound
Persephone smiled as Hades threw Cerberus a bone
Then he said "fetch!" In a loud gravelly tone
Hades and Persephone held one another as the boat turned around
As Cerberus picked up the bone off the fancy tiled ground
Cerberus chewed on the bone as Hades and Persephone sailed away
Back through Elysium, Asphodel and Tartarus enjoying their day
Finally they arrived back at their home at the edge of Tartarus
Persephone said "what a wonderful boat ride, alone together, just us"
Hades looked at Persephone and smiled at her and held her hand
The lord and lady of the underworld ruled forevermore over their land
