At the End of the Red Thread"

Just please, let’s not fall in love.
When I make it big, when the lights shine bright,
Friends and family cheering, standing tall—
But who do I go home to, when there is no we at all?

Who pulls me in after a tiring day,
Falls onto the couch, breathes in my scent?
Who listens to my giggles slipping away,
With laughter so loud, so innocent?

If I win an award, who do I thank?
Of course, my friends, my family, me.
But the one? The one I don’t have—
And that thought stings endlessly.

Who do I steal kisses from, hand in hand,
Tell them about a car color I despise?
Who do I bend for, against my nature,
Just to see joy light up their eyes?

When the world turns cruel, its voices too loud,
Whose touch do I seek, soft and profound?
Who do I clutch when love overwhelms,
When my name echoes in unfamiliar sounds?

Who do I bare my soul to, raw and real,
Knowing they see me as something whole?
What’s the point of triumph, the glitter, the gold,
If home is just walls, empty and cold?

I don’t care what the world may say,
I will forever, quietly pray—
For love so gentle, so fierce, so true,
For the red thread’s end, leading to you.

This poem is a heartfelt and vulnerable expression of the longing for love and connection. You reflects on the emptiness of achieving success without someone to share it with, and the loneliness of not having a partner to turn to for comfort, support, and love.

The poem explores themes of isolation, the human need for connection, and the desire for a deep, meaningful relationship. The speaker's emotions are palpable, and the imagery is vivid and evocative.

The final lines, "For love so gentle, so fierce, so true, / For the red thread's end, leading to you," suggest a deep longing for a soulmate, and the idea that even in the midst of success and achievement, something essential is missing without that love.
