The water that once rose as mist
dressed itself in clouds,
and when those clouds came weeping down,
they gathered into lakes.
Call it a river,
call it a lake
beneath every name,
it is still the same water.
Call it a home,
call it a wilderness
beneath every boundary,
the earth is still one.​
 

She came like silence,
and I held her hand.
We walked through rainbows,
while the road became a dream.
Beneath a tree,
I closed my weary eyes.
When I opened them
she was gone.
Only the road remained,
and a moment
that suddenly tasted of loss.
