There are people who enter our lives and leave before we even understand why they came.
It happens more often than we'd like to admit.
Everything starts so fast. The conversations never end. It feels effortless. You begin to think, "Maybe this is different."
Then, almost as quickly as it started, something changes.
The replies become shorter.
The excitement disappears.
And one day, all that's left is a simple, "I think we should stop."
No explanation.
No fight.
Just an ending.
The strange thing about endings like this isn't that they hurt.
It's that they leave you with questions that never seem to go away.
Why did they leave?
Did something change?
Did I miss something?
Or were they never planning to stay in the first place?
People often say, "It's karma," as if every painful experience must have a reason behind it.
Maybe that's true.
Maybe it isn't.
Sometimes I think we use the idea of karma because it's easier than admitting that life doesn't always give us answers.
Not every goodbye is a punishment.
Not every ending has a villain.
Sometimes people leave because they're confused.
Sometimes they confuse excitement with love.
Sometimes they realize they weren't ready for the kind of commitment they thought they wanted.
And sometimes, they simply change their mind.
The hardest part isn't being left.
It's never knowing why.
An honest answer can hurt, but silence has a way of hurting for much longer.
Maybe that's what being caught really means.
Not being caught in a relationship.
Not being caught by another person.
But being caught between memories and questions... waiting for an answer that may never come.
And somehow, learning to keep living even when it never does.
