Epic Legend
Odysseus stood there on the beach and breathed in the fresh air as the smell of flowers blew past him , suddenly a beautiful woman appeared from nowhere and stood in front of him. The woman pulled her hood down and removed her cloak , her golden breastplate and armour glimmered in the light , "welcome home Odysseus" she said "you must be Athena" said Odysseus as he watched a little owl perch itself on her shoulder , Athena nodded and smiled at him.
"Before you can reclaim your kingdom you have one last task to do and you must do it in disguise" said Athena , the beautiful goddess Athena used her powers and disguised Odysseus and made him look like an old beggar man. "What do I have to do" said Odysseus , "while you have been away your house has been full of scroungers that have been making your family's life a nightmare" said Athena , Odysseus frowned but continued to listen to her , "these scroungers think you are dead and hope to marry your beloved Penelope and rule your kingdom" said Athena.
"You can help me?" Asked Odysseus , Athena nodded and told Odysseus to go and rest at the house on the hill and regain his strength and then she vanished in front of his eyes. A stranger offered Odysseus a place to rest for the night and some food , later that evening Odysseus finished his meal and slept for the night , the next morning Odysseus awoke and found Athena standing beside the bed , "I have brought someone to see you said Athena as she used her magic to remove Odysseus's disguise.
Suddenly a boy walked into the room and stood beside the bed , the boy looked familiar as Odysseus looked at him , "Telemachus my son it's me your father , don't you recognise me" said Odysseus. Telemachus stood back in shock but continued to look at him , "is it really you father" he said , "yes it's really me my son" said Odysseus , Telemachus smiled with joy as Athena watched them reunite , "it's time" said Athena as she used her magic to disguise Odysseus as an old beggar man once more.
Odysseus , Athena and Telemachus left the house and began walking towards Odysseus's home , suddenly an old dog ran up to Odysseus and sniffed him. "My boy" said Odysseus as he hugged and petted his old dog on his head , suddenly Odysseus stood up as all the anger and bitterness over the years had filled him "it's time to take back my kingdom!" Said Odysseus...
