The next day after the sun rose Lynx and Valeria travelled onwards towards the city , they walked through the fields and stopped at a small village on the way and bought a horse from the merchant. They climbed onto the horse and looked ahead , "might take a while to reach the city" said Lynx , Valeria held onto him tight as they rode onwards through the village and continued to head towards the city , "so what is the city like" asked Valeria as they rode onwards.
"It's a busy place , but also unique , it's easy to see from afar" said Lynx , "hmm , now I'm curious" said Valeria , they rode faster and faster across the meadow for a few hours until suddenly a bright light appeared in the distance. "What's that light" said Valeria , "oh you'll see soon enough" said Lynx , a short time later Lynx stopped his horse for a moment and looked ahead , "there it is the shining city of Ymeria" said Lynx , "it's amazing , what's the name of the city" said Valeria.
"It is called Starcore City" said Lynx as he smiled , they rode onwards for a few minutes until they reached Starcore City , large pointed glass towers stood tall as they reflected the sunlight. They rode a little further into the city passing by some houses , the houses had golden gears attached to the side of them , "what are those gears for" asked Valeria , "the gears create energy to power things like lights" said Lynx as Valeria looked around in amazement as the gears turned.
They rode onwards through Starcore city until they reached the market , "this is the biggest market I've ever seen" said Valeria , "visitors and merchants come here from all over Ymeria" said Lynx. They rode a little further and then climbed off and left the horse at the stable and walked through the streets , after a few minutes they found themselves standing by an alleyway , the sun had started to set and the street lights lit up the city , the lights in the alleyway flickered as they walked through , they saw shadows moving around in the flickering light.
"Hmm the lights never flicker in Starcore city , something must be wrong" said Lynx , Valeria and Lynx kept walking through the alleyway until they reached a dead end. "Look there's a door behind those barrels" said Valeria , they moved the barrels out of the way and a few minutes later they saw a sign that said "Power Core: Engineers Only" , suddenly they heard strange noises coming from behind the door , "let's see what's in there" said Lynx , moments later Lynx and Valeria opened the door to the power core building and went inside.
The lights inside the room flickered as they walked down the stairs towards the control panels , "hmm someone or something has altered the controls" said Lynx , "but why" said Valeria. Suddenly an orc burst out of the shadows and attacked them , "grahh" shouted the orc as swung it's club towards them...
