<THE FEELING OF BEING UNWANTED>

Ya kinda but Honey I wouldn't say that she was strong at that age cuz she was just seven and she didn't even know what being "strong" meant... She was just a child trying to survive the moment. And tbh she chose silence not bcz she was brave, but bcz she knew that creating a scene might only make things worse. Silence felt safer to her:)

True, I can understand @Illusion
She wasn’t strong, she was surviving.

And for a child, survival itself is the bravest thing.

She was only seven and Durga Puja meant excitement like it did for every child...Returning home from the hostel for the holidays wid big hopes of getting new dresses, toys and many more... Bcz that's how festivals felt to children, right ?? specially when she heard that her father is coming, her excitement was at peak!! although she wasn't very close to him, but she still believed he might bring something for her, just like he always did for her cousins... When he arrived everyone gathered in the drawing room, and she hid quietly behind pillars, peeking with excitement, waiting for her turn. One by one, gifts were given to her grandparents, her aunt, her cousins, and others , and with each passing moment, her excitement slowly turned into nervous waiting!! When the last packet was gone and everyone left the room, she came downstairs, searching, thinking maybe they had forgotten but there was nothing... She didn't say anything... When she came upstairs, she saw her cousins trying on their new dresses, one of them pink her favorite color,the exact dress she wanted.. But it was not for her !! She quietly went back to her room, sat with her toy, and talked to it softly, sharing everything she felt... Stupid right? But it was the only thing listening... And From that day a small, unfamiliar feeling stayed with her the feeling of being unwanted and slowly, she learned to be glad in her own quiet ways, without expecting much from anyone!!
I only hope that this is an imaginative story, as I could never believe that this can even happen in reality. For a parent (be it father or mother), they consider their child as the most precious gift of God, irrespective of the gender.

To learn to have least expectations in life, is a hard lesson for that tender soul.

Wish and pray that no child faces this situation of being unwanted in life.

I hope it was imagination too, but sadly thr r more cases like this than we realize. Some think we only get hurt by friends or love, but the truth is, most of the trauma comes from family .... where they are supposed to feel safest. And ya I truly hope no child ever has to go through that, and that every child gets the love and care they deserve from their parents and family. Every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and safe at home. And maybe if that love is there, the world outside won't feel so heavy for them anymore.
