As Odysseus and his crew slept peacefully , Athena woke up troubled and stepped outside and wondered who or what controlled the bear back at the waterfall cave. She paced back and forth pondering then suddenly Odysseus came out of the barn , "can't sleep my goddess?" Asked Odysseus then Athena shared her concerns about what happened back at the waterfall cave, "yes that was strange but we'll figure it out" said Odysseus as Athena's long brown hair flowed in the gentle breeze , suddenly the farmer came out of his house and asked them if everything was ok , Odysseus and Athena nodded and smiled , "there is something I should tell you..." Said the farmer.
Suddenly the clouds passed and the full moon shone brightly, the farmer fell to his knees and started growling, "what's happening" said Odysseus as the farmer's body twisted and changed , black fur covered his body and teeth grew larger and sharper , his appearance completely changed, "he's a werewolf" said Athena as she and Odysseus backed away slowly. Suddenly the farmer now a werewolf opened his eyes, they glowed bright red and then he growled loudly, "first the bear and now this , this is a god's doing" said Athena as Odysseus drew his sword and shouted to his men , suddenly Odysseus's men burst out of the barn and he quickly explained the situation to them.
His men drew their swords and picked up their shields then the werewolf jumped forward towards Odysseus, one of his men threw him his shield then Odysseus caught it in mid air as the werewolf came closer, as the werewolf was about to attack, Odysseus span around quickly and slammed his shield into the werewolf. The werewolf fell down into the ground then growled loudly, the werewolf lunged towards Athena about to attack, "oh no you don't" said Odysseus as he ran in front of Athena and thrust his sword forward at the werewolf and landed a blow , the sword pierced the werewolf then he withdrew his sword and looked on in shock as the werewolf's wound healed itself.
"Our weapons are useless" said Odysseus as he and his men tried to fight the werewolf off , Athena clasped her hands together as her eyes glowed and her dress flowed in the wind, the werewolf knocked Odysseus to the ground then lunged forward towards him , suddenly Athena let out a large blast of gold and red light towards the werewolf, the gold and red light hit the werewolf and sent him flying through air and into an olive tree. Olives fell to the ground as the werewolf growled a little, Athena fired another blast of gold and red light and hit the werewolf hard knocking him unconscious , "ok time to free this poor farmer from this curse" said Athena as she walked up to him.
Athena placed her hand on the werewolf's head as her hands glowed , a golden light surrounding them , the werewolf's body glowed with Athena's divine touch as she purged the curse. Suddenly the werewolf was no more and he had turned back into a man , the farmer opened his eyes and said "it happened again didn't it" , "I'm afraid so but don't worry, the curse has been lifted" said Athena, the farmer thanked Athena as Odysseus helped hi up to his feet and then walked him back to his house to rest , Odysseus came out of the house and walked over to Athena and his men then they all went back into the barn to sleep the rest of the night.
