I Believe the Love
I believe the love we see in their eyes,
And the warmth we feel when they’re near,
That kind of love can never be fake,
No matter how feeble it appears...
But fear holds them,
Like shadows from their past...
Fear of falling, fear of needing,
Fear that love might never last...
Situations pull them away,
Attachments feel like chains,
Even when their Heart wants to stay,
They walk back into the rain...
Yet still, they turn,
Even If only for a moment,
And come back, quietly,
To the one who always waits...
It’s in those moments we Cherish,
It’s not weakness, not selfish intent,
But Battles they Fight within Themselves,
That keep their hearts absent...
Others may call them selfish,
But how can I throw blame?
When it’s always been Me,
Calling out His Name.
It’s Me who places Him First,
Even when I’m second, or last...
It’s me who stands with open arms,
No matter the hurt of the past...
Because Some Hearts don’t close,
Even when they Bleed,
And Mine, no matter what He does,
Still Loves Him in Silence...
