Epic Legend
Hercules and Odysseus continued to travel onwards towards the east in search of their next adventure , two days later they had arrived at a swamp filled with mist. The moonlight shone over the swamp as the frogs croaked and the trees creaked , "I have a feeling something is waiting for us here" said Odysseus , "I have the same feeling" said Hercules as they walked further into the swamp , a few minutes later Hercules and Odysseus saw a light ahead of them.
"There's a light over there" said Odysseus quietly , they walked closer and closer towards the light and discovered a campfire , suddenly there was a flash of orange and yellow light in front of them. A man had appeared in front of them , "hello Hercules and Odysseus , I've been waiting for you" said the man , "Hephaestus?!" , what are you doing here?" Asked Hercules , "I've come to warn you both , Hera queen of the gods is planning to attack you" said Hephaestus.
"Does Hera not have anything better to do than to torment me" said Hercules as he frowned , "how is your sword Odysseus?" Asked Hephaestus. "My sword is powerful" said Odysseus , "yes it is , Athena asked me to make that sword for you" said Hephaestus , "thank you , please thank Athena for me" said Odysseus , Hephaestus smiled at Hercules and Odysseus and said "oh one more thing , Hera is not the only one looking for you".
"Who else is after us?" Said Odysseus , "the Gorgon Medusa is waiting for you Odysseus..." Said Hephaestus , Odysseus and Hercules looked at each other with concern and moments later Hephaestus vanished in a flash of orange and yellow light. Hercules and Odysseus travelled onwards through the mist filled swamp as strange noises filled the air , suddenly Hercules and Odysseus heard a loud noise , "what's that noise" said Odysseus as he and Hercules looked around.
Hercules and Odysseus looked up and saw a large boulder rolling down the hillside , "look out!!" Said Odysseus , Hercules and Odysseus jumped out of the way as fast as they could. "CRASH"... the boulder crashed into the swampy ground and cracked in half , "where did that come from" wondered Hercules , "if I didn't know any better I'd say that boulder was aiming at you" said Odysseus , Hercules and Odysseus drew their swords and continued to travel onwards.
They had almost reached the end of the swamp when suddenly a flash of white light appeared in front of them , seconds later a woman stood there and said "where do you think you're going Hercules". "Hera!!" Said Hercules , "we just want to continue our adventure Hera" said Odysseus , "silence!! , I am Hera queen of the god's , I will do as I please" said Hera , Odysseus backed away and watched as Hera walked around Hercules.
"You would not dare harm me , my father Zeus will stop at nothing to protect me" said Hercules , Hera grumbled as she knew Hercules was right , "I could not harm you Hercules but I could make you suffer" said Hera. Moments later Hera used her powers and summoned a large lion , "haha , a lion...is that the best you can do" said Hercules , Hera grew angry and summoned a bear , Hercules put his sword away and flexed his big muscles and prepared himself.
Hera laughed and said "Let's see if you can survive" , moments later Hera had vanished back to Mount Olympus and the lion and bear started to move towards Hercules. The lion roared loudly as the bear growled , "so which one of you beasts wants to fight me first" said Hercules as he smiled , the lion leapt through the air towards Hercules and jumped on him , Hercules caught the lion in mid air and threw it into the muddy ground hard.
Hercules grabbed the lion and lifted it over his head and then slammed it down onto a jagged rock , the lion roared as the the jagged rock impaled it's body. The lions blood dripped down the jagged rock as the bear stood on it's hind legs , "let us wrestle!" Said Hercules as he ran forward and grappled the bear , Hercules and the bear grappled as Odysseus could do nothing but watch , Odysseus walked towards the exit of the swamp and waited for Hercules.
The bear roared loudly as it's saliva dripped from it's sharp teeth , "your breath smells my furry friend" said Hercules as wrestled the bear down onto the ground. Hercules punched the bears nose as it tried to claw at him , the bear clawed at Hercules once more and shredded his shirt , Hercules and the bear continued to wrestle in the mud as his shirt ripped more , Hercules swiftly moved behind the bear and grappled it from behind , his big muscled arms wrapped around the bears neck.
Hercules began to strangle the bear with his bare hands , the bear tried to escape from Hercules strong grip but failed , "time for you to sleep my furry friend" said Hercules. The bears breathing slowed down as Hercules gripped it's neck tighter , moments later the bear became unconscious , Hercules let go of the bear and then ran towards Odysseus , "is the bear dead" said Odysseus , "no it's just unconscious , ,eh us get out of here before it wakes up" said Hercules.
Hercules and Odysseus ran out of the swamp as fast as they could and headed towards the nearby lake , "Hera will be displeased that her beasts failed to kill me" said Hercules as he and Odysseus continued to run. Hercules and Odysseus finally reached the lake and stopped running , "I think we've run far enough" said Hercules , suddenly a flash of green light appeared in front of them and a man appeared , the man held a goblet of wine in his hand as he smiled.
"Ah Hercules , It's time to celebrate!" Said the man , "Dionysus , what are you doing here , and what are we celebrating?" Said Hercules , "we are celebrating life!" Said Dionysus. "Ah not again" said Hercules as he placed his face in his palm.
