**Fleeting Wave** ------------------------------

Active Ranker
Trying to touch the shore,
Reaching far to cover more.
Waves return to visit again,
And keep on touching the shore.

With them, they sweep away grains of sand,
Yet bring a few again to the land.
What is the purpose, what it gains?
What is the reason behind so much pain?

It keeps returning to the same place, again and again.
It seems fleeting as it reaches some end,
But then it stands before the sea—
Giant in every way, the wave is just its part indeed.

But isn’t it all what the sea is?
Isn’t it all what the ocean must be?
It seems separate—or doesn’t it?
But what is it gaining by reaching the same shore?

The ocean might be extremely giant,
Waves are subtle, yet they are its way.
Else it remains longing for the shore,
Unless the wave desires to touch it more.

What the ocean gains is unknown to the wave, for sure.
Still, the ocean seeks something—now it is the wave’s destiny.
Obeying the sea’s wishes gives her false immunity,
But it never occurs to the wave ever.

The shore it reaches like a mad wanderer,
The ocean remains deprived of the shore.
Yet the fleeting wave fulfills someone else’s desires.
And it never occurs to the wave, it appears.

The ocean created it, and it is part of it.
Though it remains scared,
As all happens in a fleeting moment,
And it remains so fluid.

But it keeps fulfilling its longing,
And the ocean fulfills its desire too.

Feelings are much like waves: we can't stop them from coming, but we can choose which one to surf
