Favoured Frenzy
As I sat there, the waves crashing against the shore, my eyes and attention remained frozen on the serene scene unfolding before me. I find solace in motivating those who suffer, who cry, and who fall. Having experienced the darkness of despair, I know how hard it gets when tears seem endless. Yet, it was in those moments that I discovered my own resilience – just as these waves calm the scorching shore.
My thoughts drifted freely as I sat idle, watching the symphony of sea and waves, or perhaps, the grand play of life. I was in the south part of Goa, on the first leg of my first independent solo trip, feeling elated and carefree. As I glanced at my watch, I realized it was already 6 pm.
Yesterday, I had checked into a luxurious hotel, indulging my desires. I spent the day exploring Goa, but there was still so much to discover. My bucket list remained largely unticked. Tonight, at 7 pm, a grand party was happening near my hotel. I had decided to let loose, drink, and unwind. Excitement took over as I rushed back to my room.
I slipped into a cute, tiny white frock that barely touched my knees, added a bold dark red lipstick, a red nose ring, and earrings. A small red necklace with a heart, a bracelet, and a watch completed my look. With a deep breath, I stepped out, trying to calm my overwhelming mind. I locked my room, hopped on my bike, and rode towards the party.
The ten-minute ride flew by, and I arrived at the location. The party venue, nestled beside the beach, pulsed with colorful lights and energetic beats. The DJ's infectious rhythms transported the crowd to another universe. I was ready to let go and immerse myself in the night.
After several hours of active enjoyment, I felt my energy draining. I walked out to the shore, where I thought I saw someone sitting. "Are you okay?" I asked, but as I glanced again, there was no one there. Suddenly, my eyes were covered in darkness, and I felt myself falling. Maybe the drinks had gotten to me. I was losing consciousness, but just before everything went black, I felt hands holding me closely, preventing my fall.
The next day, I blinked my eyes open as bright sun rays hit me. I woke up, stretched, and realized I was back in my hotel room. I tried to remember the events of the previous night, but my memories were hazy. The only thing I recalled was the sensation of being held closely.
I was getting disturbed by thoughts of the mysterious hands. I gasped, then suddenly thought to check my phone for any new photos. But there were none. Next, I decided to check the CCTV footage near the party area, hoping to find some clues. I rushed to get ready, then ran out of my room, locking the door behind me.
I pleaded with the security personnel to show me the CCTV footage. After some persuasion, they agreed. I scrutinized the footage, searching for any sign of the mysterious hands. But as I watched, I realized there was no one else around me that night. I saw myself falling, but somehow, I had managed to support myself.
This revelation gave me a headache. I started remembering fragments of the previous night. I recalled asking, "Are you okay?" but there was no one there to respond. It was as if I had asked myself that question. I remembered my own response: "I'm okay, perfectly and completely. I'm the happiest and calmest person now."
But then, I recalled another voice – or was it just my own subconscious? "Remember, you changed your ultimate goal from being happy to being alive." I gasped at the memory. "Yeah, I know, but still..." The other voice replied, "You're not just alive; you're thriving."
I revisited my past, remembering the days I felt sad, refrained, and depressed. But then, I saw the days I started loving, motivating, and believing in myself. I opened my eyes, and tears fell as my lips widened into a calm smile. "I won," my heart roared.
With this realization, I felt a sense of liberation, a sense of triumph over my inner demons. I had discovered my own resilience, my own strength. And as I sat there, watching the waves, I knew I was ready for whatever life had in store for me.

What we all crave is happiness, but this happiness is only achieved through liberation. The actual thing that life seeks is liberation – the liberty to cry, laugh, be anxious, and feel tense. The key to this liberation is self-discovery. It is the best and most powerful way to calm our minds and prevent misery. No one else can motivate, love, or trust us more than ourselves; it's us, and always ourselves.
