Well said broAll jobs are respectable but which one is good for us... We have to decide it ... If the job is because I don't have any option or doing it just for living then it can't be respected... My job should be a job for which I'm passionate, which gives me joy, which is improving myself and which is endless which is never going to be completed. Such job I think is respectable for myself.
I beg to differ - why it can’t be respected ?If the job is because I don't have any option or doing it just for living then it can't be respected.
I'm saying if I do a job just for survival ... I don't see it as respectable... 8 hrs 9 hrs work I'm doing without liking it then that is mental punishment I'm giving to myself... Not generalizingI beg to differ - why it can’t be respected ?
You explained it well but ended with …. “ not generalizing “ which is contradictory. Let’s call it as your personal opinion then ! Agree?!I'm saying if I do a job just for survival ... If I say by thread title then yes any job is responsible... And scenario you gave in such case also any job is responsible or respectable... Our first responsibility is to stay alive.. then comes mental satisfaction and passion. You explained it well but ended with …. “ not generalizing “ which is contradictory. Let’s call it as your personal opinion then ! Agree?!
The title of the thread states “ responsible jobs “
Two scenarios :
1. If I don’t have any other skill set to perform a job and ended up us washing utensils in a restaurant ? … should we say it’s not responsible for my survival ?
2. If a lady ended up as a maid at someone’s house just to feed her family … should we say it’s not responsible ?
When we struggle at lower rung of Maslow’s need heirarchy Pyramid - every job is responsible and respectable . I rest my case.
