Athena and Odysseus Part 7: Moonlight

The Atlantean

Epic Legend
After helping the village rebuild , Odysseus and Hercules travelled onwards for days until they reached a forest, "this is where we part ways my friend" said Hercules, they shook hands then Hercules walked onwards towards the mountains and soon vanishing into the mist. Odysseus travelled on through the forest for some time and then decided to rest for a few hours, when he awoke it was night and there were strange noises in the distance, suddenly a burst of bronze light flashed in front of him and a woman appeared in front of him , her long dark hair glimmering in the moonlight and her eyes green like emeralds , "I am Artemis" she said , she reached into her robe and took out an orb and handed it to Odysseus, "this orb will let you talk to the gods, but be warned, you can only use it three times then it's power runs out" said Artemis.

"Use it wisely" she said as she faded into the darkness. Odysseus travelled onwards until he reached a clearing in the forest, suddenly a demon emerged from trees and attacked , Odysseus quickly grabbed his amulet and pointed it at the demon, the demon fell to its knees growling then Odysseus drove his sword through it's heart, then suddenly the demon burst into flames in front of him and vanished.

The moonlight shone brighter as he walked onwards, "so that's what the amulet is for" he thought to himself, he reached a river and collected some water, just as Odysseus was about to drink some water a burst of blue light flashed in front of him, "don't drink the water mortal , it's poisonous" he said, the man standing in front of him was Poseidon, "here take this pouch of water , this water comes from our spring atop mount Olympus" said Poseidon. Odysseus thanked Poseidon, "It will last until you reach your next destination" said Poseidon as he waved his trident and disappeared into the mist. Odysseus set up camp and rested until morning.
